VOLUNTEERING

CHURCH COUNCIL and COMMITTEES

The efforts of our volunteers are integral to the life and work of a community of faith – in fact, the discipleship exhibited by laypeople is the key to a Church’s embodying the ministry of Christ in the world.  Each of the committees and ad-hoc working groups of the Church would happily welcome additional members.   See https://ralphconnor.ca/ministries/ for more information.

THRIFT SHOP

PLEASE NOTE: on March 15, 2024 an accidental fire in the Banff Church Kitchen has caused the Rundle United Thrift Shop to be closed for the foreseeable future.  Please refrain from dropping off further donations until we are nearing re-opening. Watch this space for updates.

YOUR GIFTS/TALENTS ARE NEEDED ON A REGULAR BASIS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS.

Perhaps the most visible form of volunteering, is on Sunday morning, whether the service is in Canmore or in Banff.  Most of our Sunday Volunteer needs will be covered by signing up on Sunday morning via the “opportunity clipboard” that gets passed around (or by a phone call from the Office).

EACH SUNDAY WE NEED:

Greeters – Three people to welcome worshipers & receive the offering (one at the Courtyard Doors, one at the Main Street Narthex doors)

Worship Leader – One leader to greet, lead announcements, read Scripture(s) & Minute for Ministry

Communion Server – (once per month) Two servers to assist with Communion, which is typically on the second Sunday of the month

Coffee/Fellowship – Two people to bring milk, coffee cream & juice, put on the Coffee & Tea before worship, set out cups & goodies, do dishes afterward

Kids’ Connection Helper – to help with the weekly lesson and one helper for Toddler Care in case we have very young children
