Sermon: Every Child Matters Sunday – Sept 26, 2021 – Matt. 3: 13-17

Download PDF here: Sermon_26Sept2021 Jesus was roughly thirty years old when he came to the River Jordan, so he came with much experience.  Whether that was the experience of being a carpenter or stonemason like his father Joseph, or if he had already engaged in formal study …

Orange Shirt Day

our hearts break

Our flag will be lowered for the next 215 hours, starting Sunday afternoon, in honour of the 215 children whose lives were lost at the Residential School in Kamloops.   As an Affirming Ministry of the United Church of Canada, we recommit ourselves to love, justice and reconciliation. > May 31 would be a good time for an “orange shirt day” in addition to the official orange shirt day at the end of September.

Alberta Curriculum Proposal and the TRC calls to action

Indigenous Perspective in New Alberta Curriculum: Alberta Education has recently released the draft of a new curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 6. That promise included Indigenous Curriculum in all grades including teacher training and materials. Individuals who support this promise must contact the Alberta Government. It is through age appropriate curriculum that students are …
