Evensong, Pentecost ‘Potluck’
As we mourn the 215 lost children of the Kamloops Indian Residential School, let us find hope and renewal in these challenging times. Through the eyes of Jan Richardson, Pentecost reminds us of what Spirit can do with a “garden of dust”. Pentecost challenges us to open ourselves beyond the limits of our individual lives to the Spirit who sets us ablaze for the healing of the world.
You are invited to bring a poem, a reflection or simply a word to offer during a “Potluck” Evensong service.
God of the transforming world of spring
Open my eyes
Open my ears
Open my heart to this new day
Breathe the spirit of renewal through my bones
until I drop my head in thanksgiving.
~ Barbara Parker
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention
