Our Children’s Church welcomes children ages 4 to 15. We have, as of March 2020, had to discontinue Children’s Church along with Sunday worship due to COVID-19 protocols. We are pleased to offer the “Faith@Home” kits, produced by the “First Third” ministry of the United Church of Canada’s Pacific Mountain region, as an at-home alternative.
Our aim is to offer an interactive environment for children to learn about our Christian faith and the love Jesus taught.
The lessons are based on the leader’s choice, using a variety of approaches and resources:
the Rhyming Bible, God’s Big Story cards, All in One Bible Fun, Big Book of Bible Stories and Art Activities, and Godly Play.
Children participate in the Sunday worship until the first hymn.
Then parents are free to engage in worship while their children leave the sanctuary with their two adult leaders, and enjoy their activities in their own space upstairs for about 20 minutes.
The children will rejoin the worship in the sanctuary for the anthem and the remainder of the service.
How can I help?
Each week will need two adult leaders per Sunday. Click here for a “job description” for these volunteers. If you would like to offer to teach the lesson or be the helper on a Sunday or two, please sign up on the clipboard on Sunday, or contact the Church office.
