Bring your drum!   Each time we pick up our drum, it is potentially a power-filled holy moment.   “When the drum beats it resonates beyond your body. Sermon: May 12, 2019 – Psalm 23 and John 21

It was my great joy to spend Holy Week this year in the UK, at Norwich Cathedral.  What drew me there, was a series of lectures by Rev. Dr. Malcolm Guite, a Minister, Poet, Chaplain and Musician based at Cambridge University who had been invited for the week.  Each evening from Monday to Thursday, and then mid-day on Good Friday, Malcolm would follow a similar pattern: some introductory thoughts, then read one of his scripture-based sonnets, reflect on it then, …

This Wednesday, we sit with the writings of the 14th century English contemplative, Julian of Norwich. Her Revelations of Divine Love speak of the Mothering role of Christ, amidst a series of visions she experienced of a God motivated by love, not wrath: “I it am, the Might and the Goodness of the Fatherhood; I it am, the Wisdom of the Motherhood; I it am, the Light and the Grace that is all blessed Love: I it am, the Trinity, …
